Arrived at 10am & met Stu/Oli who had been there for nearly 2 hours, not alot of wind & bucket loads of rain.
Not alot to do other than watch plug & play in the van,the rain cleared at 11.30 & the wind picked up nicely.I opted for a 5.0m but took the big 96lt board, there looked to be some big waves out there. This combo worked well,as the wind was a bit holey, but the extra lts certain helped, wallow gybing in front of big waves then picking them up & riding them back in fully powered, & the riding was very good with over head high waves, riding clean green sections backside for quite a way.The swell was certainly pushing in, out the back they were logo easily. After some more heavy rain the sun came out & the wind increased some more, should have changed down board but couldnt be bothered, by now the sea was pushing hard, with the water coming up to the pebbles, then receding 30mts,so 1 sec your stood on sand ,the next in waist high water struggling to stand up.
got off after 3 hours cus the other 2 got off, but wished i stayed on as soon as i drove off! A strange day but in the end a good day
